The England manager Questions Home Crowd Support Despite Comfortable Wales Victory.

Thomas Tuchel expressed his regret that the Three Lions team did not get stronger backing from the home crowd during their commanding 3-0 friendly victory on Thursday night.

The manager was satisfied to see his squad continue their good form, with finishes from Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the initial stages settling the game. But, he was unhappy with the mood at the national stadium.

“We had one and a half training days to prepare against a organized team and we performed excellently,” the coach stated. “We could have been 5-0 up at the break. We couldn’t score the additional goals. The stadium was silent. There was no support back from the crowd. Our team gave their all to win.”

“What more can you provide in 20 minutes? We prevented them escape. When you only hear just Wales fans for 30 minutes, it’s disappointing because the squad earned better encouragement today.”

“I support this statement. There’s nothing more than leading three goals up in a rivalry match. I would have wished for a bit more backing in periods where it becomes tough.”

“After halftime, to support us, there was a bit too much backing for the opposition. It could have helped us to regain energy, but it is what it is and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Justified by Display

Away from risking a dispute among fans, the manager also raised eyebrows by leaving out Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden from his team selection. But the decision was backed up by Morgan Rogers excelling in the No 10 position and getting his maiden goal for his country.

“That’s his style,” the head coach noted. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is vying for his place.”

Wales Manager Hopes for Improvement from Loss

Craig Bellamy hopes that Wales, who face a strong Belgian side in a crucial World Cup qualifier on next week, learn from their disappointing first-half display.

“That’s the reason I scheduled this game,” the manager said. “I wanted to assess where we are. Where do we want to go? What is our identity? Today fills me with drive.”

Fitness Worry for Striker

Ollie Watkins was withdrawn at the break after clattering into a goalpost and will be a doubt when England play their next opponents in Riga in a qualifier on Tuesday.
