Discover Twenty-Nine New Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Set (Featuring a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)
Everyone's beloved pizza-loving superheroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's company, the game's creators, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a exclusive event hosted at New York Comic Con. Is this a radical addition or yet another crossover marketing move? We'll let you decide.
Take a look here at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including some useful background. Everything mentioned here releases on March 6, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27.
MTG x TMNT: Core Set Cards
Before we get into the many unique products and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the expansion are priced at $6.99 each, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.
Let's unpack a couple of shell-shocking features. First, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where gamers can play powerful creatures into the game field when an attacking creature goes unblocked. The big difference here is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells too. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the mechanic a little (It is treated as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but it's more likely we'll see Sneak in future sets from now on.
“If we ever go back to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use the original ability because that plane is it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” a senior designer stated. “However in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it’s probable we’ll use the updated version.”
Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is among four cards with unique artwork designed specifically for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman.
Oh, and, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing game cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. Yet according to Wizards, that's now a legal card in all formats of Magic.
In any case, here are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from the TMNT set:
Following Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers say they were careful to ensure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.
“I led the development for over a year and we were aware it was going to be in standard and what other sets were going to be near it in standard,” a lead designer says. “Our goal was to make sure that there's synergy with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”
For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype built around artifact cards.
“They combine to provide the components for a fun Standard-legal deck,” the designer says.
Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!
Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it includes six different legendary creatures who could work as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five cards include a unique Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command zone instead of just one). Check them out below:
This Commander precon is set at $69.99, although that could easily go up due to demand. Wizards indicated that it includes 43 new cards altogether, which translates to an additional 37 TMNT-themed cards in addition to the six legendary creatures pictured above. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprints if we assume the precon comes with 37 land cards.)
What will the TMNT edition of Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Standard Bundle (Regular)
Typically, the company is offering a collection. It costs $69.99 and contains the following:

- Fifteen Non-foil land cards
- Two helper cards
- One Traditional foil promo card
- 1 Large life tracker
- 1 Card-storage box
Pizza-Themed Bundle
This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it comes in what looks like a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the items below:
- Nine Play Boosters
- One Premium Booster
- 25 Regular pizza-themed lands
- Five Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
- Two Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
- 2 helper cards
- One Oversized life tracker
- One Card-storage box
For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s basically a reprinted older card featuring all-new TMNT art. The team revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza slice. In total, there are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.
The Pizza Bundle releases a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Night
This unique product is designed for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

Turtle Team-Up
Finally, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to create Magic products aimed at new players. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that allow two players join forces against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.
The concept here that every Boss card grants special abilities to the creature cards included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card per turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
